Editorial Project Management: A great addition to my skill set

SH photo"I recently attended the Editorial Project Management two-day course run by Sarah Sodhi, and found it incredibly helpful and enjoyable.

"Having been Staff Editor of Paediatric Care Online, at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, for only six months I saw this course and thought it would be a great addition to my skill set and increase my knowledge around editorial processes and general management.

"While initially concerned the course wouldn't be 100% applicable, due to the small nature of my team when compared to others in the group, I found the course extremely useful and enjoyable. I took away a vast array of information and practical knowledge, and it was good to cover both general and specific project management aspects such as identifying the critical pathway, reviewing the role of the editorial project manager, assessing the scope, needs and risks of an editorial project, as well as accurately estimating the timing of a project.

"Working with others during the group work sections of the course was a great addition, it allowed me to see how others work and what other roles in industry leading publications houses look like.

"I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone currently in an editorial role or interested in pursuing such a career. You never know what tips and pointers you might pick up!"
