Accessibility

The Publishing Training Centre is keen to ensure that its website is accessible to all.

With this in mind, we've taken the following steps:

Coding

The web pages are written using correctly coded XHTML, ensuring compatibility with standards compliant browsers.

Colour contrast between text and background

We aim to ensure that there is enough contrast between text and background colours for all text to be easily legible.

JavaScript

The website works best with JavaScript enabled, but is designed to be able to function without it.

Links

We aim to make all link text clearly indicate where that link leads to, so that it can be understood out of context.

The 'title' attribute is used to show when links take the user to a different website (except where this is obvious from the link text).

Resizable fonts

Throughout the site, we avoid the use of fixed font sizes, so that users can change the text size via their browser.

Use of images

Appropriate alt text (a label containing alternative text for when the image can't be shown) is used for all images.

Images are not used to represent text.

These steps help to make the website usable with browsers that do not display images, such as text only browsers and speech-based browsers.

We are currently working towards further improving the accessibility features of this site.

If you have any suggestions or have found a page where we have failed to adhere to what we’ve set above, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please email .
